Question? What is Hair Mineral Analysis?
Answer. It is an analytical test which measures the mineral, trace mineral
and toxic metal content of hair. It can provide indications of mineral and
endocrine imbalances, and deficiencies and excesses of many essential and
toxic elements. More specifically, hair analysis reveals cellular metabolic
activity as well as tissue storage levels of trace minerals. It can
provide a more holistic and comprehensive picture upon which to base a
nutritional program.
Question? Why test for minerals?
Answer. Trace minerals are essential in countless metabolic functions. The
body can manufacture many vitamins, but it cannot produce necessary trace
minerals or get rid of many possible excesses. Deficiencies or excesses are
often associated with certain health conditions. For example, toxic metals
can contribute to learning disorders. Too much iron can contribute to
arthritis, high blood pressure, or headaches.
Question? What causes mineral imbalance?Answer. There are many
contributing factors, such as: improper eating habits, excess physical or
emotional stress, environmental toxins and pollution, and improper use of
medications and nutritional supplements.
Question? Can a healthy person benefit from a mineral analysis?
Answer. Yes, it can help determine tendencies towards specific problems.
Question? How do I get this done, and what is the cost?
Answer. It is an easy procedure that requires a small amount of cut hair. We
will teach you how to do this, or you can come to the office to have it done.
Through a cooperative arrangement with Trace Elements Lab we are very pleased
to be able to offer this for only $65.
Question? What information will I receive?
Answer. You will receive an individualized, printed evaluation and detailed
discussion of your metabolic type, current mineral levels, and their impact
upon your body chemistry. You'll also receive recommendations of specific
foods and supplements based upon the analysis. This will better help you
eliminate unnecessary supplements and target your specific needs.
We highly recommend hair mineral analysis.
